Are You Insured?
We are fully insured and upon request, we can provide a certificate of insurance for your booking!
Can I have Exotics at my Petting Zoo?
Even though these animals are most popular for our indoor programs, some can attend your outdoor petting zoo for an additional cost. Great additions to warm-weather outdoor zoos are ball python, tortoise, porcupine, bearded dragon, wallaby and skunk!
Can We Pick The Critters We Want At Our Booking?
We try to honor your requests as much as possible, so please let us know who you would like to see! Depending on the type of booking (interactive, etc) and size, we may have to make alterations.
What is an "Interactive Zoo"?
If you decide to upgrade your petting zoo package to an Interactive Zoo, this allows event-goers to go INSIDE the pen with the animals for up-close cuddling and pets. During the interactive zoo, feeding is not permitted for safety. When booking an interactive zoo, not all animals may be options (ex: a skittish sheep).
How Do I Pay For My Event?
Our preferred method of payment is cash, but we accept check as well! Payment is due IN FULL upon arrival of your event.
Do I Need To Make A Deposit To Secure My Date?
Against other suggestions, we actually do not require a deposit! We understand that life happens and Mother Nature is not always on our side. The fault lies on no one when a booking is cancelled due to inclement weather! We hope that you will honor your date reservation as it supports our family. As soon as you need to cancel, please let us know so we may fill your spot if possible.
Weather Policy
To keep everyone safe, we reserve the right to cancel your booking if the weather deems unsafe for our animals health. Extreme heat or cold can be dangerous so if cancellation is needed, we will do our best to find a date to reschedule. Some animals may not be available during extreme highs or lows (highland cow in heat or zebu cows in cold).
When Should I Expect Cattail Critters To Arrive?
Depending on the size of your zoo booking along with the setup requirements for your booked animals, we usually arrive anywhere from 30-60 minutes before your booked time!
Are There Any Additional Fees?
In addition to your package price, fuel is $2.00/mile roundtrip. Feed bowls are $1/bowl and can be paid at the event or pre-paid for a set amount ahead of time. Feed bowls are free during weekday events!
How Far Do You Travel?
We try to stay under 2 hours of travel time one way. Trailering can be stressful on animals, especially during the warm months.
Can We Come To Your Farm?
Unfortunately, at this time we do not offer farm visits unless it is for paid photo events. We hope to offer this in the future!
Where Do Your Animals Come From?
We have acquired animals from every source availabe! Adoption, rescue, sales online, auctions, friends, etc!
What Do You Provide At Events?
We bring the fencing, feed (if applicable), animals, handwashing station and staff seating/table.
What Do We Need To Provide?
Adequate space for your booking size, nearby trailer parking, shade or cover for our animals during warm months. If you want to monitor the amount of people coming and going into the zoo, you will need to provide extra fencing to surround the zoo. Depending on the length of the zoo, we may also need access to fill the animals water if we use what we bring with.
Do You Offer Pony Rides
Our insurance and our ponies do not allow that currently. So sorry!
Do The Animals Bite?
If you choose to feed the animals by hand and not from the bowl, there is always the possibility of fingers getting nipped BUT it is never intentional by the animals. With each food bowl, we try to make sure everyone is aware of the proper technique on how to offer the animals grain from their hand. Flat palm, flat fingers, flat hand and you are good to go!
Do You Require A Grass Space For The Outdoor Zoo Booking?
No...but yes if possible! A grassy area provides grazing, soft footing and easy cleanup for your zoo. If you do not have a grass space, we can setup on other surfaces but please recognize cleanup may not be as seamless. We also may require shavings or straw to be upt down if we are not on a grass area.
What Do Staff Members Do?
Staff members will provide feed bowls, cleanup animal waste, setup and takedown and monitor all animal/human interactions. All staff members have the right to remove the animals from any situation/event that is deemed unhealthy, dangerous, or overly stressful for the wellbeing of the animals. Happy animals make for happy people!
